ISO guidelines define the framework that maintains the quality of culture media and specify the standards for media preparation when used for microbiological examination.
Microbiology testing is critical to ensure the safety and quality of food. Each step of the process must meet specific standards. Methods stated in the guidelines must be used to conduct quantitative, semi-quantitative, or qualitative evaluations.
Laboratories performing these tests must give precise, reliable results under a time constraint while meeting regulatory standards.
