WATER TESTING KIT (COLI-CHECK)

Water Testing Kit is a quick and easy method for the presumptive identification of coliform organisms in drinking water. It is intended for monitoring of drinking water on a regular basis, and enables visual interpretation without performing complicated laboratory procedures. The kit is used for laboratories, field testing, and rural water monitoring programs.
The kit includes a sterile sample bottle and a vial containing prepared broth medium. Once the water sample is added and incubated, the medium supports the growth of coliform bacteria, including Escherichia coli, if they are present. These organisms produce metabolic changes as they grow causing the broth to turn from purple to yellow. If the broth maintains the original purple colour, the sample is considered to be free from detectable coliform under the test conditions.
The ease of use of the kit allows both trained laboratory staff and users with minimal microbiology training to perform the test. The quick visual indication minimizes further interpretation and helps speed up water quality assessments.
