TARTRAZINE, (for Microcopy)

Product Code 1648

  • Description

Tartrazine is one of the most important dyes in many laboratory and industrial fields due to its bright color uniformity and good analytical reliability. This orange-yellow coloured powder is a sulfonate dye in the form of the trisodium salt of the azo compound derived from tartrazine acid and is prepared by the coupling of sulfanilic acid with 3-carboxy-1-(4-sulfophenyl)-5-pyrazolone. Tartrazine may also be utilized as a reference standard in the laboratory analysis for the determination of the tartrazine content in food samples by ion-pair liquid chromatography coupled with photodiode-array detection and electrospray mass spectrometry. Other than analytical testing, this dye is widely used in food, cosmetic and pharmaceutical industries due to its strong and stable coloring properties. Its dependable performance in quality control, formulation development, and research applications makes Tartrazine a widely recognized color additive and laboratory reagent.
