SOYA CASEIN DIGEST MEDIUM W/ 0.5% SOYA LECITHIN & 4%TWEEN 80

Soybean Casein Digest Medium with 0.5% Soya Lecithin and 4% Tween 80 is an enriched culture medium to be cultured for a wide range of organisms and test the efficacy of sanitization processes. Complies with USP, EP, BP, JP and IP harmonized requirements and is typically used to test for microbial contamination of equipment surfaces, manufacturing containers and water-miscible cosmetic and pharmaceutical formulations. The medium is particularly valuable where residual disinfectants could interfere with microbial recovery.
Its nutrient-rich composition allows the growth of both fastidious and non-fastidious microorganisms. Tryptone and soya peptone provide the nitrogenous source for the growth of organisms, and natural sugars of soybean act as prebiotics for good microbial growth. Sodium chloride maintains osmotic balance, ensuring stable growth conditions during incubation. The presence of soya lecithin and Tween 80 renders the product particularly suitable for use in environmental monitoring. Soya lecithin also neutralizes the quaternary ammonium compounds and Tween 80 neutralizes the preservatives used in many of the cosmetic and pharmaceutical products. It results in increased recovery of viable microorganisms that might otherwise remain undetected.
