Sodium Diphenylamine Sulphonate, AR Grade is an aromatic sulphonate compound available in the form of off white to light grey crystal or powder. It is easily soluble in water giving a clear, and stable solution, suitable for analytical use. The compound is the redox (oxidation-reduction) indicator in redox reactions. When the oxidation state of the reaction mixture changes, the molecule undergoes a visible color transition. This color change indicates the endpoint of the reaction and also ensures accurate determination of redox potential. As the response of the indicator is not much influenced by the pH, it can be used reliably under various reaction conditions. Therefore, it is useful in analytical techniques where accurate monitoring of redox titrations is desired.
