PECTIN, PURE

Pectin (Pure) is a yellowish white to light brown powder free flowing powder and is a structural acidic heteropolysaccharide present in plant cell walls, mainly in primary and middle lamella. The functional properties are due to the presence of galacturonic acid, which is a sugar acid derived from galactose as its main component. It is utilized as a food supplement and source of dietary fibre for the formulation of nutritional products. Pectin occurs naturally in terrestrial plants, where it has an important structural function and is relevant in food science and in plant research. Its composition and origin make it suitable for use in texture, stability and dietary applications.
