MUREXIDE, (Ammonium Purpurate), AR GRADE

Product Code 1602

  • Description

Murexide (Ammonium Purpurate) is a purple-red powder, which is widely used in analytical chemistry because of its indicator characteristics in complexometric titrations. As it is soluble in water and insoluble in alcohol, it can be used in controlled laboratory experiments. It is mainly employed as a complexometric indicator in the titration of calcium ions and can be used for metals like copper, nickel, cobalt, thorium and the rare earth metals. The capability of producing clear color changes on metal ions exploitation is the main reason that makes this reagent useful in quantitative chemical analysis, allowing accurate detection and estimation in research and industrial environment.
