Product Code TMA 001
Description
MF Endo Broth is a selective and differential medium designed for the enumeration of coliform bacteria with a membrane filtration procedure. It is extensively used in water quality testing, environmental monitoring, as well as in public health investigations, due to its ability to provide quick and dependable results. The broth supports direct membrane filtration without enrichment and therefore suitable for routine coliform testing.
The product contains nutrient dense ingredients of casein enzymic hydrolysate, tryptose, peptone and yeast extract which provide amino acids, peptides, vitamins and other growth factors necessary for coliform recovery. Lactose is the fermentable carbohydrate, and sodium sulphite, sodium deoxycholate, and basic fuchsin act as selective inhibitors of Gram-positive bacteria and also enable differentiation of lactose fermenters. Coliform organisms produce characteristic red colonies due to reaction of fermentation products with the indicator system while non-lactose fermenters are colorless making visual recognition easy.
MF Endo Broth can be used for the analysis of potable water, recreational water, wastewater, beverages, and other liquid samples. Its consistent performance, selective recovery, and differential nature allows this medium to be routinely used for regulatory testing, quality assurance, and environmental microbiology laboratories.
