Product Code 1908
Description
Hydroxylamine Hydrochloride, AR Grade is a colorless or white crystalline powder and is widely used for reduction and conversion reactions in chemistry. It is a strong reducing agent and reacts very well with carbonyl and acyl compounds. It is a typical reagent for the conversion of aldehydes and ketones into oximes, whereas acid chlorides are converted to hydroxamic acids with this reagent. These reactions make the compound particularly useful in synthesis procedures requiring selective functional group modification. Apart from being a reducing agent, Hydroxylamine Hydrochloride has found application as a catalyst, swelling agent and inhibitor of copolymerization in various chemical reactions. The compound is the hydrochloride salt of hydroxylamine, a biological intermediate associated with nitrification and anammox reactions involved in the nitrogen cycle. Its crystalline form makes?it easy to handle and to weigh, as well as for dependable preparation in analytical and reaction-based applications.
