H2S TEST POWDER KIT (10 TEST)

H₂S Test Powder Kit is developed for the rapid detection of H₂S-producing bacteria, including Salmonella and Citrobacter freundii, in water samples. The kit provides a quick and straightforward testing method for a preliminary screening at the microbiological level and can be used for routine monitoring of water quality, environmental samples and in public health. The simple testing procedure also allows for convenient field testing and use by personnel with minimal laboratory training.
The kit contains dehydrated H₂S test powder formulated with nutrients adapted for the growth of the target bacteria. After dissolving the powder in the collected sample of water and incubating, those organisms that can produce hydrogen sulphide when reacting with the medium turn the solution from light amber to black. This visual colour change gives a presumptive indication of contamination with H₂S-producing bacteria and selects those samples which should be further investigated microbiologically.
