Product Code TSP 002
Description
Dey Engley Neutralizing Agar Plate is a culture medium used in disinfectant efficacy testing where effective neutralization of residual antimicrobial agents is essential. This allows laboratories to accurately determine whether a disinfectant has killed the microorganisms or simply inhibited their growth.
The medium contains a carefully balanced mixture of neutralising compounds which inactivate a wide range of disinfectants and antiseptics including quaternary ammonium compounds, phenolics, iodine, chlorine, aldehydes, mercurials and glutaraldehyde. This allows surviving microorganisms to recover and grow without interference by the residual chemicals.
The essential nutrients are supplied by casein enzymatic hydrolysate and yeast extract and dextrose is used as a source of energy for microbial metabolism. Bromocresol purple, a pH indicator changes colour from purple to yellow in presence of acid produced during growth thus making microbial detection easy and interpretable.
Dey Engley Neutralizing Agar Plate is an ideal choice for pharmaceutical manufacturing, healthcare facilities, cleanroom monitoring and validation laboratories that need reliable disinfectant performance testing and accurate assessment of surface sanitization procedures.
