D-FRUCTOSE (LEVULOSE)

D-Fructose (Levulose) is a white crystalline powder and a simple ketonic monosaccharide and is naturally present in many plants. It is usually available in the form of combination with glucose such as sucrose, and is one of three main dietary sugars that are digested and passed directly into the bloodstream, along with glucose and galactose. It is employed as a preservative agent and also administered as an intravenous infusion in parenteral nutrition to promote energy supply in medical applications. Its role as a readily metabolizable sugar and its presence in biological systems make it suitable for nutritional, clinical, and research-related uses.
