ANTIMONY TRICHLORIDE, AR GRADE (Antimony (III) Chloride)

Product Code 810

  • Description

Antimony Trichloride, AR Grade is an inorganic chloride that is a colourless crystalline material. It exhibits reactivity with organic compounds containing extended conjugated systems. In such reactions, it binds with carotenoids and related compounds to yield colored complexes. This color change can be observed and measured easily. The compound is employed in the analysis for vitamin A and carotenoids. A unique blue complex is formed during the reaction which can be estimated quantitatively by using colorimetric method. It also has a predictable reaction behavior, so it is useful in lab testing for identifying and quantifying such compounds.

  • Principle

An analytical reagent used for colorimetric detection of vitamin A and related compounds.
