Product Code 1904
Description
Hydroquinone, AR Grade is supplied as fine crystals, needles, or a colorless crystalline powder that gradually darkens on exposure to air and light. The substance is known for its reducing properties and complex chemical reactivity in analysis and synthesis. Hydroquinone has been employed in biochemical processes as the reagent in the sodium bisulfite conversion of DNA. It has also been applied in Timm’s staining techniques, in which the reaction behavior requires it to be regulated well for staining performance. With its phenolic structure, the substance is very active in redox reactions and similar chemical transformations. Hydroquinone is found naturally in coffee, tea, and wine. The reagent is soluble in water to produce a clear and nearly colorless solution, allowing easy preparation for analytical application. Due to its stability, reaction efficiency, and broad applicability, Hydroquinone is widely used in staining applications, chemical reactions and molecular analysis work.
