MALTOSE (Monohydrate)(γ- Irradiated) (Culture Media Ingredient)

Product Code 3536

  • Description

Maltose (Monohydrate) (Gamma Irradiated) is a sterile carbohydrate ingredient supplied in the form of colourless to white crystals or crystalline powder. Gamma irradiation also contributes to the retention of high microbiological quality making the product suitable for use as a clean ingredient for sterile applications. Maltose is a disaccharide sugar which is used as a source of energy in many microbiological, pharmaceutical and bioprocessing applications. Its predictable performance and controlled microbial status make it a useful component in processes that require reliable and reproducible performance.
This is a standard product in pharmaceutical production, especially for dry injectable production media fills, where sterile process simulation is a must. In addition, it can be added to a specific media formulation and in other lab applications in which a sterile source of carbohydrates is needed. Due to its crystalline form, ease of handling, and microbiological safety, the product can be used in controlled manufacturing and testing environments where consistency and quality are important.
