LINCO T SUPPLEMENT (LINCOMYCIN-COLISTIN-AMPHOTERICIN-B TRIMETHOPRIM) *

LINCO T Supplement is an antibiotic selective supplement for the isolation and cultivation of the Gonococci and other Neisseria organisms. The formulation contains Lincomycin, Colistin, Amphotericin-B, and Trimethoprim, are the active components in the formulation that offer a selective environment for the isolation of target species by inhibiting the growth of unwanted microorganisms.
It is used with suitable GC Agar Base or GC Agar Base (Veg.), along with haemoglobin and yeast autolysate supplements, to provide the nutrients required for growth. The supplement is delivered in vial and is reconstituted aseptically using sterile distilled water prior to the addition to the cooled molten medium. Gentle mixing is sufficient to disperse uniformly without forming too much froth. The plate medium may be then poured into sterile Petri plates for inoculation and incubation. It can be used for clinical samples including stool, urine, respiratory exudates, and other relevant samples.
The selective composition is adapted for use in microbiological procedures for the isolation of Neisseria species from samples with mixed microbial flora. Aseptic technique and standard laboratory practices should be followed during preparation, specimen handling, and disposal.
