IMMERSION OIL

Immersion Oil is a specially formulated optical medium designed to enhance the visual features of specimens when viewed at higher magnifications. Light refraction and loss are minimized because the refractive index is very close to glass and more light enters the objective lens. The result is higher quality images, better contrast and improved depth resolution which can be very important when looking at detailed structural information. Besides using in microscopy, it also has antifungal, antiseptic, diuretic, and astringent properties, and can be used in certain formulations where such features are needed. Its stable physical properties ensure smooth application and dependable performance during routine use.
