This compound crystallizes in the rhombic crystal system and it exhibits a structural transition at high temperature to a monoclinic structure at about 1148°C, and it melts at 1400°C. Assay is not less than 98.0%, with low levels of impurities such as chlorides, calcium, iron and heavy metals, which make it sufficiently pure for accurate analytical work.
