TM Media developed a simple and reproducible method for culture of assorted bacterial strains. A range of supplements are prepared for addition to culture media for a variety of purposes including the enrichment, differentiation, isolation and selection of bacteria. These supplements may be 5% Sheep Blood, Horse Serum, Ampicillin, Kanamycin Sulphate, TTC Solution 1%, Egg Emulsion, and Egg Tellurite Emulsion in vials for reconstitution in specified volumes of culture media to alternatively inhibit or enhance bacterial growth permitting their differential isolation. Culture media supplements when incorporated into culture media, it works for differentiation of various bacteria. Such as, when a mixture of bacteria is inoculated onto a blood- containing agar medium (Blood agar base), some of the bacteria may gives hemolysis of red blood cells or some of them does not show hemolysis, as they do not destroy the red blood cells present in the culture media. Thus, the differentiation of hemolytic activity and non-hemolytic activity is clear and easily distinguishable on the same culture media with the help of specific use of supplements.
TM Media has some ready to use culture media supplements which can be added directly to culture media to enhance growth and improve the ability to identify specific bacterial strains.
