MEAT EXTRACT TYPE I

Meat Extract (Type-1) is a dehydrated beef extract which is a source of nutrients for the preparation of culture media in microbiology. It is a substitute for conventional meat infusions and contains a rich mixture of peptides, amino acids, minerals, vitamins, fractions of nucleotides and other related organic compounds necessary for the growth of microbes. Because it is produced without extensive protein hydrolysis, it retains many naturally occurring nutrients that help support the cultivation of a wide range of microorganisms. It is often added to media formulations to help provide a stable and dependable source of nutrients.

Meat Extract (Type-1) is enriched with additional growth factors, minerals, phosphates, and energy sources, enhancing the nutritional value of peptone. It is extensively employed in bacteriological culture media for testing of water, milk and other materials in which uniformity of media composition is essential. This product is also useful in biochemical and fermentation work as it has minimal fermentable material which could mask the results of tests, thus aiding accurate and reproducible observations.
