FOOD PATHOGEN DETECTION KIT

Food Pathogen Detection Kit is designed for the rapid screening of major foodborne pathogens, including E. coli, E. coli O157:H7, Salmonella, Listeria, Staphylococcus aureus, and Clostridium species. Conventional methods may take a few days to confirm the presence or absence of pathogens. The kit reduces the turnaround time by combining enrichment, differential detection and confirmation in a single streamlined procedure.
This methodology begins with an enrichment to allow recovery of the injured or stressed cells in the food sample. The enriched culture is then tested in a differential medium containing a chromogenic substrate, sorbitol and an H₂S detection system. These reactions also differentiate sorbitol fermenters from non-fermenters and H₂S producers from non-producers with different color reactions. Additional confirmatory tests are provided for certain organisms: Staphylococcus aureus is identified by coagulase activity, Listeria by esculin hydrolysis and medium blackening, and Clostridium by stormy fermentation in anaerobic conditions.
The kit is suitable for use in food processing units, quality control labs and microbiological testing facilities. It provides an efficient and reliable approach for the routine screening of food safety and supports release decisions for the products under time-sensitive products.
