Anaerobe Gas Pack

Anaerobe Gas Pack is a Carbon dioxide generating pack. It is a disposable pack of oxygen absorbing and carbon dioxide generating agents for use in anaerobic jars. No catalyst or pressure gauge is necessary for this pack since no gas pressure is generated.

Microbial Air Monitoring System is used for monitoring of microbial air contamination in Pharmaceutical, Food manufacturing, & Hospital OTs. The unique slit design avoids turbulence in unidirectional airflow and re-aspiration of tested air. The simple menu navigation and built-in operational protocols make operations simple. The equipment can store up to 10,000 entry logs, and this data can be accessed anytime in the Microbial Air Monitoring System. This instrument is lightweight and portable, with a strong carrying case. The instrument is validated as per BS EN ISO 14698 – Part 1, for physical and biological efficiency. The equipment offers PC connectivity to meet 21 CFR: Part 11 requirements.

How to Use

  • Remove the paper sachet from the foil bag. Do not open the paper sachet.
  • Immediately place the paper sachet into an Anaerobic Jar and close the jar lid. Oxygen absorption and carbon dioxide generation will start immediately on contact with air. Do not add water or use a catalyst.
  • Use one sachet of Anaerobe Gas Pack for a 3.5 litre or smaller jar. For jars larger than 3.5 litres, use 2 to 3 sachets in proportion to the jar volume. When using more than one sachet per jars, do not pile sachets on top of each other.
  • Used sachets may generate heat because of their residual reactivity. Discard all sachets after they become cool.
  • Do not throw sachets away with combustibles.
  • Use Anaerobe Gas Pack for cultivation under conditions of less than 45°C (113°F).

A specified volume of air is passed through small holes or slits onto a petri plate containing culture medium for a specified period of time. After the cycle is complete, the plate is removed from the air sampler and incubated, and visible colonies are counted to determine the level of contamination. This will result in the number of viable microorganisms present in each liter of air in the area being calculated.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Anaerobe Gas Pack is a disposable system used to provide an oxygen-free (anaerobic) atmosphere inside an Anaerobic Jar. It has agents that remove oxygen and produce carbon dioxide, which is necessary for growing anaerobic microorganisms.

Just take out the inner paper sachet from its foil covering (without breaking the paper sachet) and insert it directly into the Anaerobic Jar at once. Close the lid tightly. The oxygen uptake and carbon dioxide release will commence when exposed to air. You don’t need to add water or a catalyst.

For jars of 3.5 litres or less, use one sachet of the Anaerobe Gas Pack. If the jar is over 3.5 litres, use 2 to 3 sachets, proportionally increasing the amount to the volume of the jar. When using more than one sachet, ensure that they are not placed on top of one another.

It is normal for the used sachets to emit heat due to leftover chemical reactions. Let the sachets cool down to room temperature before you handle them. After cooling, dispose of the used sachets, but not with combustible materials.

The Anaerobe Gas Pack is designed for cultivation under conditions where the temperature is below 45°C (113°F). Use it at lower temperatures only.
