Anaerobe Indicator Tablet is used for the detection of anaerobic conditions in the jar. It is a sachet containing a tablet prepared from resazurin. It is used for checking the anaerobic atmosphere in sealed containers used for incubation. The colour change from purplish blue to pink indicates anaerobic conditions.

How to Use
- Remove the Anaerobic Indicator tablet keeping intact the transparent cover. On removal the original pink colour may change to purplish-blue because of absorption of oxygen. Under anaerobic conditions this colour will change to pink.
- Place the indicator tablet into the Anaerobic jar with the cover intact, along with the pouch provided with the jar.
- One tablet is sufficient for a jar of 3.5 litres/ 1.5 litres capacity.
- Place the material for incubation and seal the anaerobic jar according to directions. It may take a few hours for the tablet to turn completely pink to indicate anaerobic conditions inside.
- Incubate at the desired temperature.

The Anaerobe Indicator Tablet is used to verify that anaerobic (oxygen-free) conditions exist inside a closed incubation jar. It is used as a visual indicator to verify that the environment is correct for anaerobic microorganisms.
The resazurin dye in the tablet is colour-dependent on the level of oxygen. In the presence of oxygen, it turns purplish-blue. As anaerobic conditions are created, the tablet will turn pink, showing a healthy anaerobic environment.
Just peel off the tablet from its covering, leaving the transparent cover undisturbed. Put it along with the included pouch inside the Anaerobic Jar, and then seal the jar for incubation. The tablet is good enough for up to 3.5 liter capacity jars. It might take a few hours for the complete colour change to pink.
If the tablet is still purplish-blue, it means anaerobic conditions have not been attained in the jar. This may be because of a leak in the seal, a problem with the anaerobic gas generation system (if used), or a lack of time for the anaerobic environment to set up.
No, the Anaerobe Indicator Tablet is single-use only. After it has been used to show anaerobic conditions, it must be discarded. Using a new tablet for every incubation guarantees accurate results.
